These are nine samples from the Yamaha CS-5, a tiny single oscillator synth that I bought in 1980 for a small fortune. About ten years ago I lent it to a friend of mine, who then gave it to the industrial noise merchants Test Department to tour with, without telling me. It then passed through several bands, and came back to me last week, missing several keys, covered in airline stickers and filthy. After fiddlind about inside it for a couple of hours, I got it to work, and lo and behold it still sounds as cheap and nasty as it ever did. I took these samples from it just in case it finally packs up altogether; they're mainly bass bits and pieces; you never know, someone out there might find one of them interesting. If not... well, it's my phone bill! Best wishes Guy Jackson guy@jackson.nildram.co.uk Tel: 00 44 181 881 3644
