The wallpaper of this room is a paler shade of blue than the curtains and the midnight black ceiling is dotted in miniature recessed downlights to give the illusion of a starlight sky. The neatly cleaned, forest green carpet contains a vague swirl pattern. The surprise on your face was obvious. <span class="speech-player">"I thought you were joking!</span> you offered. You remembered the conversation well. You had just finished making love when Ann had suddenly said, <span class="speech-ann">"How do you feel about a spending the night with me and someone else?"</span>

You were shocked. It was an ususual joke for Ann to have made last night, and now it appeared she wasn't joking. <span class="speech-player">"Are you trying to tell me something?"</span> you asked, your face full of concern. <span class="speech-player">"Is there a problem with our lovemaking?"</span> In a lighter tone, you said <span class="speech-player">"Ann, don't tell me that all these years I've been married to a lesbian!"</span>

Around her delicate neck is a black leather collar that is tied tightly enough to prevent her from moving her head from side to side. Although she isn't being strangled by it, it looks as though it only needs a milimeter more of tightening before she would find it hard to draw breath. You have a strange feeling that this woman is the one that wrote the entries in the black book that you found.
Facing the cross and its occupant is a dark haired woman. She holds a large curved dagger with a white handle out in front of her. Her eyes watch the cross and its occupant with a predatory stare. She's obviously some sort of priestess. You don't know what manner of being she serves, but you can bet that it ain't friendly.
Amidst the stone circle, staring at the dark haired woman who is obviously their priestess are a group of worshippers. They wear smiles of adoration. They all wear expressions that would be considered to be expressions of rapture if it wasn't for the fact that their eyes seem to dart ceaslessly giving the impression of nervous unease. You wonder if the poor woman on the altar could have been one of these worshippers until she was chosen by their priestess.

A third beam is placed vertically through the centre of the 'X' and the structure is being held upright by means of a strong metal support. The main focus of the picture is a young girl of about eighteen. She is bound to the 'X' at the wrists and ankles with what appear to be iron manacles. Her head is raised slightly and fixed in place by a rope around her neck which is tied to the vertical part of the beam. The rope looks tight enough to restrict movement without entirely strangling the girl. There is another woman in the picture. She wears a featureless white mask which obscures her features. She holds a white handled knife against the girl's stomach. The expression on the girl's face is one of apparently genuine fear.
You feel both disturbed and aroused by the image. You are both shocked by the fact that your wife would have kept something like this from you, and also disturbed by the fact that she was receiving such material as the photograph and is apparently not offended by it. Oddly, Ann has been married to you for four years and in all that time she has never shown any interest in S&M and has shown no sexual interest in women.

The heart of the flower - a white disc with a slightly oval shaped black centre – stared back at Megan like an unblinking eye. She considered picking it and taking it back home for further study, but something stopped her. It was the sheer otherworldliness of the flower itself. If this plant was unique then she didn’t want to kill the species by lifting it out of the soil.
She brushed back a lock of fiery red hair, lifted up her skirt, and crouched down to smell the plant. The scent was itself unique. It was a feminine smell, like expensive perfume but hiding something else, something dark and musky. There was something mesmerising about the flower that was magnified by its scent. Megan was entranced by the smell. It was as though the flower itself was having an aphrodisiac effect on her. Disturbed, and concerned that perhaps this odd flower had narcotic properties, she dragged herself away from it and headed back home.
The cottage was only ten minutes walk from the woods. She had bought it with inheritance gained from the death of her mother a year ago. This event had coincided with the breakup of her marriage. The cottage itself was situated in a picturesque part of the Cornish countryside, many miles from any visible signs of life. This suited Megan. She was still trying to get over both the death of her mother and the lying, cheating bastard that walked away with her heart and refused to give it back.
When Megan returned she felt oddly drained and slightly depressed. She climbed the stairs and headed straight for the bedroom. As she undressed she examined herself in the full length mirror that was situated against the bedroom wall. Megan was a woman in her mid twenties. Though not what you would call a classic beauty, she was quite pretty. Her nose was small and cute and she had large hazel eyes and an expressive face. Like most redheads her face and neck were covered in a considerable amount of freckles. Her body was slim, well proportioned and in fine shape. This was partially due to Megan’s interest in yoga, and mostly due to her daily walks in the woods beyond the boundaries of her cottage.
Remembering the scent of the flower, Megan suddenly felt a wave of intense longing. She was further surprised to feel tears running down her cheeks. Her emotions seemed out of control and she was incredibly tired. She settled into bed and fell asleep almost as soon as her head hit the pillow.
She was standing on a lush green hill, looking down on a verdant valley full of the strange purple flowers. Small figures could be seen lying down amongst the vegetation. As she drew closer she saw that the figures were people, men and women of all ages. She wanted to lie down with them, lose herself in a sea of flesh…
Megan woke with her body drenched in sweat. Why couldn’t she get that damn flower out of her head?
The following day found Megan standing in the woods, staring at the flower. The flower stared back. She knelt down and took in its scent again. The effect was even stronger than the day before. She immediately felt a need to lie down in the damp earth. It was a very quiet woodland. Megan had only seen one person – a rambler – in all the time she had lived at the cottage. There would be very little chance of getting caught.
She stripped, lost in her own world as she lay back on the damp earth. She vaguely felt something leafy brush over her body and she fancied some woodland spirit had extended gnarly fingers to caress her.
Something wrapped around her arm, pulling it back onto the ground. She lifted her head to see large tendrils snaking out from the base of the flower. Another tendril wrapped around her other arm, and her legs, pinning her to the ground. Despite her fear, Megan was still transfixed by the scent of the plant, and when a tendril wrapped itself around her neck, she offered little resistance.
She arched her back, clawing at the earth with her hands as the plant tightened its grip around her throat. She gave out a cry of fear which quickly became a choking girgle. She stared at the bright blue summer sky as her eyes bulged and the life drained out of her.
She continued to stare, eyes wide, at the open sky long after her heart had stopped. An hour later the tendrils withdrew. Two hours later and Megan’s body began to split open. Bud like growths sprouted out of her corpse. Bursting, they released spores into the air that would be carried on the wind to other woodlands, fields, and gardens.

A year after the mysterious dissapearance of the local artist, Ann Willow, her husband, Jason, has sold the last painting she ever made to a private collector in Wales. The painting, entitled 'Isolda's Eyes', is unusual in that it is the only artistic nude painting done by the artist. The subject of the painting is rumoured to have been a close friend of Ms Willow. She is also said to have been having an affair with Jason Williow.
Mr. Willow plans to use the money from the sale to emmigrate with his mistress to Alaska later this year.

When we lay together I took my nife and slit his throat. I revelled in the warmth of his blood before casting his corpse aside and using his blood to draw the circle. The circle is ready, but before I can join my sisters I have discovered who has been spying on me! It was the priest! He followed me back to this chamber. He challenged me, told me I had the devil's mark in me. The old fool thought he could exercise the deemons within me. I played along for a while, exposing my body for him whilst he looked for witche's marks. I allowed him to torture me. I pretended to swoon and when he untied me I lashed out, clawing out the fools eyes, before strangling him. He had a strange silver necklace with symbols on it not unlike those of the circle. I shall study it anon.

I threw the body of the priest down the same well as his idiot son. I shall examine his necklace at a later date - it fees oddly cold to the touch and I feel it holds some sort of unknown danger to my sisters.

Her captive shivers as the priestess digs the tip of the knife into her skin, drawing blood. The priestess lifts the dagger to the girl's lips, allowing a droplet of the red fluid to drip down onto her lips. She licks them, savouring the coppery taste.
The ground beneath your feet starts to vibrate slightly and you can hear a dull thudding noise in the distance.

With one swift motion the woman cuts a deep wound into the girl's stomach, just below her navel. She gives out a cry of pain as blood begins to seep out of the open wound, soaking her body. It has a strange, black trunk-like body from which protrude a mass of tentacles. It stands on large, goat like hooves. The worshippers hold you in front of the hideous creature.
It extends several of its branch-like limbs which end in obscene sucking mouths and latch themselves onto the woman tied to the cross. The woman writhes in agony as the monster uses these mouths to suck the blood from her body, leaving behind large red marks on the pale flesh. The thing drains her life away, along with her blood.

As soon as they make contact with you, the silver necklace that you are wearing begins to glow with an odd green luminescence. It lashes out with its tentacles at the women and the priestess, igniting each one with the same green flame, before running off back into the woods.
The women begin to scream, trying to douse the unholy fire that engulfs them. The priestess continues to stand there. She looks at you with eyes full of hate as the green flame sears her flesh. Then she closes her eyes and just stands there, burning.
Eventually the burning ceases. The clearing, now littered with burnt corpses, grows quiet.
All that remains are charred bodies, and the [[black dagger-->Dagger]] still clutched by the blackened body of the priestess.
