I have the Amiga version of LTOI which has the version of Lurking Horror that
supports sound. There are several sound files which accompany the game.
Pinfocom, the portable infocom game interpreter supports sound in the amiga
version. One would think that it would not be hard to port this capability to
another system which supports 8-bit digital sound. I have already sold my Amiga,
but I'm holding onto my Amiga version of LTOI because I plan to port sound
capability to a NEXTSTEP version of Pinfocom as soon as I get my sound card
working under said operating system. The sound files are all sitting on my
harddrive at home.

Since the sound files can be distributed separately, one wonders the following:
1> What are the copyright implications of giving them to other Lurking Horror
owners considering you can't even buy a new copy and you can't use them unless
   you have lurking horror anyway
2> do the other versions of the data file contain the sound opcodes that make the
sounds play (one may need the data file after all)
3> how would one play them if one didn't have a handy Amiga

Anyway, I'm going off on holidays tomorrow, so I'll get off the net for two weeks.
If anyone has convincing answers to the above questions let me know.
