Try running Scandisk in "thorough" mode to scan the disk surface for
errors...
same thing happened to me and the install bombed.

One curious note - you did what I did on your first attempt to install and
tried setting the disk type in Part. I couldn't figure out what the heck I
was doing! Until I re-read the Example.txt and saw that I only had to go
over to SIZE and cycle thru possible sizes with "m" - it actually chooses
the whole avaialable on the first "m" - and Minix sets the Type
automatically DUH- it knows what type of disk it's creating!

But you got the boot hd2 to work after the halt. That still won't work on
my 486 - keeps telling me hd2 is unbootable. Yet I boot fine at startup,
and I can just type exit at the monitor prompt to boot back up.
--so help me in return! Thanks - another rookie trying to get into *nix.
